Lenovo Tab P11 Pro: The Android tablet market is not flooded with great tablets. Samsung has a few options, but they aren’t the majority. The majority of Android-powered tablets have not lived up to the expectations set by the iPad.
However, this does not mean that Android manufacturers have stopped making them. Lenovo’s Tab P11 Pro tablet is their latest attempt to provide a premium tablet experience. The tablet features a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and plenty of RAM.
A massive battery and an AMOLED display
What does this mean for the tablet’s real-world usage? And is the price worth Rs 44,990? Let’s see what our review says.
Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Design and Display
Apple is the best example of how to create premium products. The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro has a flat slab-like design similar to the Apple iPad Pro. We are happy that Lenovo took the time to improve the design.
The tablet’s feel when held is what makes the difference. It’s made of all metal, so it feels premium. The build quality is also excellent. Although Lenovo certainly took a page from Apple, they used it well.
The tablet’s corners feel softly folded, which increases comfort and provides a good grip. This tablet is designed by Lenovo to be used mostly in landscape mode.
When the tablet is in landscape mode, the dual front-facing cameras are located at the top. The position of volume and power buttons, etc.
The power button is located at the top of the tablet’s left side when it is in landscape mode. Volume buttons are at the top in landscape mode. The power button works well in landscape mode but is difficult to reach in portrait mode.
There are four connector pins that can be used to connect accessories such as keyboard covers, etc., towards the bottom. Four JBL speakers are included with the tab. Two of them are located on each side in landscape mode.
When the tablet is in portrait mode, it has a USB Type C charging port at its bottom.
The back is clean and has a dual-tone finish. There’s also dual-camera housing in the upper right corner. The camera bump feels out of place in comparison to the rest.
The display is the highlight of the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro. We are proud to present the 11.5-inch Quad HD display, which has a 2560 x 1600 resolution OLED display. This tablet is one of our best. The display supports Dolby Vision and has 500 nits peak brightness.
This OLED panel is excellent and can be color calibrated. This display has high contrast and blacks. The color production and saturation levels are excellent. We are also satisfied with the viewing angles.
Outdoor visibility could have been improved. Overall, Lenovo has done a great job with the design and display parts.
Lenovo Tab P11 Pro: Performance & camera
The tablet’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor is paired with 6GB RAM, 128GB of onboard storage, and an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. It is a decent price for a tablet device.
We think that at least 8GB RAM is needed, especially since the tablet has a Productivity mode similar to Samsung’s Dex.
We have seen the Snapdragon 730G in action on several smartphones. It is a mid-range premium processor that performs well. It has enough power to handle both basic tasks and heavy usage.
The keyboard dock has not been sent by Lenovo so we mainly used it to watch movies, play games, and browse social media. It was also useful for office use, such as attending conference calls and checking email.
The tablet performed very well in our tests for regular use. We also tried out some games such as Battlegrounds Mobile India, CoD Mobile, and Need For Speed Nitro. All those apps and games ran smoothly. When it comes to heavy-duty tasks, the tablet has some issues.
The tablet was able to edit an image with the Lightroom app, and a 1080p video with the KineMaster editing software. They were handled by the tablet, but the tablet’s limited RAM made it a little slower than we expected.
The tablet’s hardware is not a concern. It works well and has decent performance. We have serious concerns about the software on the laptop.
It runs two versions of Android 10 OS. The custom user interface is not perfect in design and performance.
The jumpy and bouncy animations were the most annoying. There is a delay and lag when you change the home screen or launcher. This affects the user experience. A dedicated Productivity Mode is also available on the tab.
It looks very much like Samsung’s Dex. The Lenovo Tab P11Pro’s Productivity Mode feels like another layer on top of an already skinned Android.
Lenovo should improve the software on the P11 Pro, and make it more user-friendly. The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro includes a quad JBL speaker system backed by Dolby Atmos technology.
It sounds great. The voice is clear and loud. It has decent bass and treble output. Even at maximum volume, there is no distortion.
Its surround effect is what makes it one of the most powerful speakers on a tablet. The tab has a dual-camera setup with 13MP autofocus and 5MP fixed focus sensors. The camera quality is average but serves its purpose.
The 8400mAh battery in the Lenovo Tab Pro P11 Pro is capable of providing 15 hours of video playback and eight hours of web surfing. The tab was able to last for 13 hours at full brightness and volume, which is quite impressive. The tab doesn’t drain the battery overnight.
Lenovo P11 Pro: Verdict
The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro, at Rs 44,990 is a great option for anyone looking for a tablet that can be used for entertainment, education, and work purposes.
It offers nearly all of the features you would expect from a premium tablet. This tablet has a lot to offer, including a vibrant display, great battery life, quad speakers, and Stylus support.
However, some compromises such as limited RAM, unpolished software, and average camera performance can make this tablet less appealing to many.
